Page 60 of Keeping Time

Panel 1: Caption: NOW. Back in the present, the boys of Tennyson are leaving the bar. The sky is dark, and the buildings are warmly illuminated from within. Denver stands closest to the bar's entrance, both hands in his jacket pockets, a red flannel now tied around his waist. Furthest away, Stef walks towards elevated train tracks, his hard shell bass case in one hand. Stef's tossed on an oversized varsity jacket. Between them, Tomás is starting to follow Stef, but he notices Denver hanging back and hesitates. Tomás now has on a green bomber jacket.

Panel 2: Tomás looks at Denver over his shoulder and asks, "You coming, dude?" Stef hasn't noticed this exchange, and continues walking away.

Panel 3: Tomás turns back around to talk to Denver. Together, they stand to either side of the bar's entrance. Denver rubs at the back of his head, nervously. He says, "Ah, uh, No." Tomás stands, his face completely neutral, as he listens to Denver finish, "I was thinking of hitting up the piano bar next. Y'know. See if I can talk to Daniel about the band..."

Panel 4: Tomás looks concerned. He hesitates, "...I dunno man."

Panel 5: Denver's eyes are downcast, looking away from Tomás. Off panel, Tomás finishes, "Are you sure that's a good idea?"
