Page 68 of Keeping Time

Panel 1: The next two panels cut Denver off so that his face isn't visible. Here, he begins to stand, pushing himself off of the table.

Panel 2: Denver pulls out a cigarette from a mostly full pack, his face still obscured by the end of the panel as he removes himself from the situation. Over Denver's shoulder shoulder, Daniel is visible. Daniel's eyes are closed as he continues singing. The narration says, "Whenever I played..."

Panel 3: The narration goes on, "...I felt safe." Daniel opens his eyes and glances out in the direction of the audience.

Panel 4: The narration ends, "I think that’s what music meant to me. Safety. Assurance." Daniel has completely turned his head in the direction of where Denver was sitting, but Denver's table is now vacant. The rowdy table behind Denver is still there, though, and they're laughing at a spilled drink.
