Panel 1: NOW.
Back in the piano bar, Daniel and Elena are closing up for the night. Daniel is back in his winter coat and is shutting the lid to the grand piano on stage. On the floor near him, Elena dons a pink puffer with an oversized fur hood.
Elena asks, "I met your visitor tonight. The blond with the neck ink -- that's the guy you were telling me about, right?"
The narration continues, "...if following the score was all that mattered..."
Panel 2: Daniel doesn't turn around to answer, slowly, "...Yeah. Looks like he was in the audience for a bit."
Panel 3: Elena flips the hood of her jacket off, pursing her lips in displeasure. She says, "I told him to stick around 'til close if he wanted to talk to you! Feh."
Panel 4: Daniel finally turns around to offer a weak, forced smile. "...It's probably for the best. I don't think anything good can come of us talking again."
The narration finishes, "...did it really need to be my hands playing it?"
