A full page splash. Denver stands at the sink, washing dishes. He's listening to the off-panel conversation between his sisters and mother, but not participating. He smiles, but only with his mouth. The narration reads, "Denver grew up in a big household that was always filled with laughter..."

A daughter (likely Deirdre) asks, "So, mom, how was Christmas mass?"

Niamh answers, "Oh, it was lovely. I ran into Mrs. Shipman and her older boy."

Teagan says incredulously, "Javi went to mass? On Christmas Eve? Maybe he is turning over a new leaf for you, Rorie."

Rorie shouts, "Oh my god. Would you please drop it already? Javi and I are over!"

Teagan says, "Mm, sure. We believe you."

Niamh cuts in to say, "Teagan, leave your sister alone. And you should have come to Mass. All of you should have!"

Deirdre answers, "Well, I have a fussy teething terror on my hands. That's my excuse."

Teagan says, "So Rorie gets to pull the ‘I’m just a baby’ card, and Deirdre gets the ‘I have an actual baby’ card? This is unfair." The Leary women laugh.

The narration finishes, "And yet, I think… he was just as lonely as I was."
