Panel 1: Denver in the present brings his cigarette to his mouth. His smile is sad as he answers, "He’s not just a piano bar performer. He used to be in our band in high school. The first version of this band."

Behind Denver, some memories of Daniel float against a soft, purple light. Daniel as Denver's just seen him sings at the grand piano of the piano bar. Daniel in Denver's high school memories has a bass slung over his shoulders as he smiles at a girl with long hair next to him. Her hair covers her eyes but flows out of the way to reveal a giant smile as she plays a keyboard.

Panel 2: Tomás has finally stopped smiling AND has finally sat up. He asks, "Daniel’s back…?"

Panel 3: Stef looks across the page towards Tomás in the last panel. Stef asks, "Daniel?"

Panel 4: A pulled out shot of all three boys in their booth. Denver's eyes are downcast now as he answers, "Yeah. Daniel sang and played bass. He was a year below us at school." Tomás, now upright, props his chin up with one hand. He looks up into the air as he replies, "...I didn't think Daniel was ever gonna come back to Chicago."

Across of them, Stef's arm folding has somehow intensified. He says, "I've been in Tennyson for TWO YEARS, and neither of you ever mentioned this guy. How am I just hearing about him now?"
