Panel 1: Through the phone, Denver says, "Hey, hi. Margot? Uh, it's Denver."

A woman is standing outside on a city street somewhere, beneath the shadow of some kind of awning. The trees that line the street are virtually bare. It's Margot, and she has reddish-brown hair beneath a little black pork pie hat. She has on thick, dark, square-framed glasses, and wears a tan cardigan over a black blouse. She's holding an iPhone type font to her hair in one delicate hand. She looks thoroughly unamused as she replies, "I know. What do you want?"

Panel 2: Denver's face is still worried as he speaks into his phone that's much older than Margot's. He continues, "Yeah, so, I'm sorry about the other night--"

Panel 3: A close-up of Margot's frown. Light freckles splash her cheeks and nose. She says sternly, "Let me stop you right there."

Panel 4: Back with Denver, Margot says off-panel, "I appreciate what you did, but you went way too far." Denver starts to protest, "Margot--"

Thank you so much to all the new readers who've been joining us here! This has been a rough, terrible start to November, but I'm so grateful to all of you. I could not be making this queer ass comic without reader support like yours.

I'm gonna copy-paste the Patreon description that went up with this page back in May (that's right! May! Patrons have been over 6 months ahead of the main site!). Sorry that my Patreon blog tone of voice is uh. Somewhat. Less professional than what I normally write with here. I'm sharing it because I don't think I could word this description of Margot any better than I did back then. I'm pretty fond of Margot (and unfortunately for Denver, he is, too).

Aaaand there's Margot!!

I am extremely pleased with her design. I'm trying to capture that whole "MySpace scene kid aspiring to be a Suicide Girl who seamlessly transformed into a lookbook dot nu/blogger dot com hip girl" vibe of 2008-2009. Which is why Margot of course has a gen 1 iPhone here (and her glasses don't have any lenses in them).

This Margot is named after Margot & the Nuclear So-Sos because that is a band I always associated with those blogger dot com girlies. I started listening to them for the first time as I was working on these pages and was FLABBERGASTED to realize the frontperson of that band ISN'T EVEN NAMED MARGOT. HIS NAME IS RICHARD OR SOMETHING. THERE'S NO MARGOT. IT'S A WES ANDERSON REFERENCE

And, if you're still reading (which oh my god, thank you), it's sort of still the start of the month, which means now's the best time to vote for Keeping Time over on Top Webcomics! You can vote once every 24 hours, and every vote helps bump me up the list. The higher on the list, the more likely I'll get more eyes on this comic!
